Our versions will revolve around “Tahir Sawyer”, a typical “kid” from North Philadelphia as he goes from being just another “disposable” to being respected by the entire city.

Tom Sawyer is a series of adventures and misadventures of a boy who tries to live the swash buckling adventures of his books and his imagination.

Movie Version of “Tom Sawyer

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain is a companion work to “Tom Sawyer” because Tom plays a major role in Huck’s story. The final manuscript of “Tahir Sawyer” may contain sub plots from this book.

Tom Sawyer turns Huck’s “road trip” in the slave states of the 1840s into a covert rescue mission that is designed to match Tom’s ideas about heroic adventures.

Story Line

Tahir is an average young man in his early teens, living with his grandmother and younger half-brother in North Philadelphia during the late 1990s. Tahir loses himself in videos and books that tell the tales of fictional heroes and super heroes.

Great Expections is a story about an orphan, an escaped convict and two fortunes, mixed with unrequited love for the adopted daughter of an insanely bitter, rich, old spinster.

Story Line

Tahir is in his mid teens and learns that he has a half-brother who lives in West Philadelphia with his mother. Tahir uses some questionable methods to become his half-brother’s anonymous benefactor to set him on a better path.

 

Adrift in New York” by Horatio Alger

Adrift in New York tells of a fortune, a greedy heir, a child kidnapped and raised by a scoundrel, tangled in sub plots that pit theft of a fortune against efforts to overcome several injustices of greed and class.

Movie Version of “Meet John Doe” The Horatio Alger Myth is used in almost every movie, especially during the 1930s and 1940s. “Meet John Doe” is just one example of the genre. Story Line

Tahir is now in his late 20’s, and nearing the end of a prison sentence for drug dealing and manslaughter. The half-brother he had helped has graduated from Penn Law and runs a small, non-profit service for paroled offenders in South Philadelphia. When Tahir returns to his old neighborhood, he is treated as an OG (Original Gangsta)
